The Ultimate Guide to Family Camping & Glamping in Yorkshire
In the past few years, we’ve started camping as a family, and along the way, we’ve found some great family camping options in Yorkshire. We’ve also done our share of glamping and tried out quite a lot of camping gear. There’s nothing quite like getting out in the fresh air, taking a good old Yorkshire walk, and then spending the evening beside a campfire.

One of the wonderful things about Yorkshire is all of the outdoor space. From seaside sites to the Yorkshire dales, there are so many kid-friendly camping options!
We loved Catgill Campsite near Bolton Abbey. It’s a beautiful site with Bolton Abbey, Hesketh Farm, Billy Bob’s Ice Cream Parlour and Embsay Steam Railway all close by!

Camping at Mason’s Campsite near Appletreewick is a great experience. The site is beautifully maintained and the nearby stream is great for paddling.
How Stean Gorge near Patley Bridge is a small campsite with an on-site adventure centre! There is no electrical hook ups but it’s a great fit if you’re keen for an adventure.

Our very first glamping experience was family glamping in a woodland tent at Jollydays, Near York. After this, we were hooked and went on to buy our own bell tent!
