Staying in a geodome at Camp Katur was a fabulous experience.

If you’ve ever wanted to stay in a safari tent or hobbit pod, you’ll find them at Camp Kátur, along with tipis, bell tents and unidomes.

Camp Kátur provides an ‘off the grid’ experience with no electricity in the Glamping Village, but solar-powered lighting is provided in the toilet and shower block area. There is a communal cooking area for the lodgings that doesn’t include kitchens, as well as an on-site cafe open on the weekends and daily during school holidays.

For mum and dad, there is even an outdoor Eco spa and sauna complete with wood-fire hot tubs!

Humble Bee Farm, Near Scarborough

If you want your glamping trip to include a trip to the seaside, Humble Bee Farm is conveniently located near Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, and Whitby. Humble Bee Farm is an actual working farm, so children will be delighted to find free-range hens, goats, cattle, sheep, and ducks on the property, as well as a children’s play area complete with a fireman’s pole!

At Humble Bee Farm, you can choose to stay in holiday cottages with outdoor hot tubs, wigwam cabins, bell tents or the new nomadic yurts. All of their lodgings include beds with mattresses, lighting, a barbecue, and a picnic table. The wigwam cabins and cottages are both fully heated.

Each of the yurts at The Wensleydale Experience has a private hot tub, private shower and toilet, barbecue, and a dining area on the deck. We enjoyed a family stay at The Wensleydale Experience for my 40th and Lily’s 10th birthdays. It was a lovely, relaxing weekend.

Families with animal-crazy kids like ours will want to check out the Elder Yurt with plenty of farm animals nearby.
