Child friendly New Year’s Eve events in West Yorkshire
If you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve as a family there’s plenty of places to end 2018 with a bang! Whatever your style, from dressy party to festive outdoor walk, there’s lots of fun to be had!
1. New Year’s Eve Mini Rave with BOOMCHIKKABOOM, Halifax
Where: The Piece Hall, Halifax
When: 12pm and 2:30pm

Join us for a Family Rave to celebrate the end of 2018. Into their sixth year of hosting these popular raves, Boomchikkaboom are back at The Piece Hall, playing all your favourite, feel good dancefloor fillers. Expect an explosion of fun, with snow machine, bubble machine, parachute fun, dance battles, photo booth and more. Aimed at walking tots to 8years but all ages welcome!
2. Leeds Wheel of Light

Cost: £5 per person, Children 1m or under are free when accompanied by a paying adult
The 110-foot Leeds Wheel of Light returns to Victoria Gardens from Friday 16 November until New Year’s Day, affording views across the city centre and boasting over 25,000 LED lights! Opening times for New Year’s Eve 11am-10pm and New Year’s Day 11am-6pm.
3. Rainbow Factory Disney NYE Party, Pudsey
Where: Rainbow Factory, Pudsey
When: The event lasts 2 hours and includes party food, 10am – 12pm, 12pm – 2pm, 2pm – 4pm
Cost: £12.50 – Includes Food, £4 – Additional Adults

4. New Year’s Eve Family Celebration at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield

When: Arrival from 7pm, with carvery served at 7.30pm. Bar to close at 1.30am and function to finish at 2am.

5. Festive Show: Night Lights at Eureka!, Halifax

Explore Eureka! Children’s Museum and enjoy their original festive show, which last around 30 minutes and takes children on a sensory journey – perfect for snuggly, winter days!
6. Mince Pie Specials at Keighley and Worth Valley Railway

Travel in lovely Yuletide carriages and take a festive journey into the New Year. The stations transformed with Christmas displays, real coal fires and gas lights, creating a magical glow as your train rolls in. Walk off those Christmas treats with a walk into Strid Wood for our festive family quiz.
Hiding behind wooden Christmas tree doors there will be quiz questions to suit both Grandparents and Grandchildren alike. Wind your way along the green trail from the Cavendish Shop and see how many questions you can answer.

10. Watch The Princess and the Sprout, Leeds

Deep within the stacks of Leeds Central Library something magical is happening – a host of children’s stories have sprung to life from the pages of the books! Don’t miss these fantastic festive fairy-tales brought to the stage by the brilliant Wrongsemble with a sprinkling of live music, wonderful characters and beautiful puppetry.
