Review: Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers – Healthy & Yummy

Plum Little Yums Teething Wafter

When we were offered Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers to review I was happy to give them a go, hoping to find another snack that Leo (and I) liked.

When Lily was weaning, I thought getting kids to eat solid food was easy.  Just give them lots of variety and they will learn to enjoy many different (healthy) foods.  Then along came Leo, my picky eater.  I’ve made and bought more things that have gone uneaten than I can count.

I guess I’m a bit picky too.  When I’m looking for snacks for the kids I want them to be healthy, reasonably priced and, of course, the kids have to want to eat them.  Easily done? Not always.  However, I am pleased to report that Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers made both mamma and tots happy!

My nephew with some great advice!

Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers have no added sugar or salt. – When Lily was first weaning, I was really surprised to find that many teething biscuits have sugar as one of the first few ingredients.  I’ve tried to wait as long as I could before introducing sugar to my tot’s diets.  I didn’t want added sugar in one of their first foods.

The wafers are all organic, with no genetically modified ingredients or artificial colouring and are made of fruit, veggies and buckwheat. Yay!

As a fan of spinach and a new convert to the super-nutritious kale, I am pleased that Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers came both in pumpkin, banana & spinach flavours as well apple & kale.

Price

Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers are priced at £2.49 per carton.  Each carton contains 6 packs of 3 biscuits.  It would take my little man quite some time to work through 18 biscuits, even at 16 months.

Yummy

Both kids liked them.  Lily said they were ‘good’ and ‘crunchy’ – when pressed for more information she told me, “This is a good snack Ma.  That’s on the truth!”

They were easy for Leo to hold and he seemed equally pleased with both flavours!

Final Verdict?

Healthy, reasonably priced and  ‘a good snack’ they’re brilliant for Leo at 16 months.  I wish we had these around when he was first weaning.   Although Lily was enthusiastic about them, I probably wouldn’t choose them for a snack for a three year old, but we will be keeping them in stock around here until Leo is older!

I threw a few teething biscuits in my bag for a trip to the park and they held up very nicely (didn’t end up as snack pulp).  They also dissolve easily when eaten so they make no mess – always a bonus, especially when you’re snacking away from home!

Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers can be found in Tesco, Sainsbury and Ocado, RRP £2.49

We were sent two boxes of Plum Little Yums Teething Wafers for the purpose of this review.  All opinions and photos are my own &  Lily’s.

  1. My little boy loves these too, they are his absolute favourite snack! Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested

  2. These DO have sugar. At least the blueberry and fig ones do. Children under a year do not need sugar while their teeth are developing. It lists pure cane sugar. It actually has more sugar than blueberries OR figs. What is misleading is how small the saving is. The water is a quarter of an ounce. But if it were larger, you would see how high the percentage of sugar really is. Did you not notice how sticky these are?
