1. Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts at National Trust Properties

When:  March 31 – April 3

Where: National Trust Properties

Cost: Varies depending on the venue

Head to the National Trust properties for a very special Cadbury egg hunt!  You can find events at East Riddlesden Hall, Nostell Priory, or Fountains Abbey. 


2.  Steampunk Science at Eureka!, Halifax

When:  Daily

Steampunk science buskers will amaze you with some mind-blowing science demos at Eureka!.  For an Easter Weekend with a difference, hop-a-long and meet the Steampunk Easter bunny. Plus, it’s your last chance to see interactive tech playground digiPlaySpace, which leaves the Spark gallery at the end of Easter.


3. Leeds Young Film Festival

When:  March 25 – April 5

Where: Various venues in Leeds

Cost: Prices vary

Leeds Young Film Festival is the UK’s largest family film event where the whole family can watch, learn and play. Explore the world of film, animation and virtual reality through screenings, live shows, workshops and drop ins across the City with £3 film tickets, budget family passes and even some events that are completely FREE.

Highlights of the weekend include Children’s Cinema DayAardman Animation TablesAnti-Gravity Box and the 360° Dome.

 


4. Free Fun at Leeds City Museum

Where: City Museum Cookridge St, Leeds, LS2 8BH

Cost: Egg hunt free, charges for Animation Central.

Leeds City Museum will have a FREE egg hunt on daily over the Easter holiday weekend as well as Animation Central (charges apply).


5. 24 Carrot Forest at This Green MoonSwillington Organic Farm
Leeds

When:  March 30 – April 3

Where: Swillington Organic Farm, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS26 8QA

Cost: Family ticket £25

Come and enrol as an Easter detective, Collect your investigation kit and search high and low for the Mysterious Carrots of Gold. Join the trail, uncover the secrets and solve the puzzle.

A brilliant day of outdoor fun for all the family. storytelling, music, crafts and adventure with fine Yorkshire food and a licensed bar.

6. Easter Eggspress at Kirklees Light Railway

When:  March 30 – April 2

WhereKirklees Light Railway, Park Mill Way, Clayton West

Cost: Family Ticket (2 Adults + 2 Children) £34

Hop aboard the Kirklees Light Railway’s Easter Eggspress and travel by steam train to meet the Easter Bunny!

There will be platform rides, bouncy castles, giant lawn games, Artifaces face painting, a children’s entertainer, the Clayton Flyer mini railway, adventure playgrounds and the chance to do Easter crafts – all included in the cost of your ticket along with your return train ride!


7. Springtime Live

When:  March 31

Where: Railway Road, Harrogate, HG2 8NZ

Cost: Adults £10, Children 3-18 £5, Under 3’s free

Springtime Live is hosted by the organisers of the Great Yorkshire Show and is held on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.  Mr Bloom from CBeebies is the special guest and will be performing with a bunch of fellow gardeners from the allotment. What’s more they’ve brought their instruments with them for a musical party!

The show is a fabulously fun day out for families, especially those with young children. Around every corner you’ll find free activities for children of all ages based around Spring, new life, food and farming and the countryside. All activities at Springtime Live are free with entry ticket.  Entry tickets must be purchased in advance.

 


8.  Easter Bunnies & Eggs at Anglers Country Park

When:  March 30 – April 1

Where: Haw Park Lane, Wintersett, Wakefield, WF4 2EB

Cost: Small fees apply – starting from 50p an egg.

Come and decorate an egg or make a wooden Easter bunny at Anglers Country Park.  While you’re there make sure you take a walk around the fantastic, free Room on the Broom Trail!


9. It’s a Mad Hatter of an Easter at Lotherton Hall

When:  March 24 – April 15

Where: Lotherton Lane, Aberford, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS25 3EB

Cost: Family (2 adults, 3 children) – £22.50 (free for season pass holders)

Over three weeks at Easter, follow the Mad Hatter’s trail, play hopping games with the Easter Bunny, meet the Mad Hatter and friends, see live hatching displays in the Bird Garden, take part in our springtime crafts and enjoy our outdoor games. Enough to keep the whole family entertained, whatever the weather!


10.  Easter Tournament 2018

When:  March 30 – April 2

Where: Royal Armouries, Leeds

Cost: Family tickets £26

Enjoy the thrills and spills of authentic medieval jousting in the heart of Leeds.

This Easter the Royal Armouries’ arena will resound to the clash of a live-action tournament, as internationally renowned knights from England, France, Poland and Australia battle for our prestigious trophies. It’s spectacular entertainment for all the family.

Each day, as well as two not-to-be-missed dangerously entertaining tournament shows, there will be an action-packed museum programme including tales of the tournament, arming the knight demonstrations, sword combat plus jolly jesters and wandering minstrels – all included with your ticket.
